Shafston has two campuses in convenient locations in central Brisbane and in the heart of Southport on the Gold Coast, just minutes from Surfers Paradise and some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.

Shafston’s main campus is in the exclusive riverside suburb of Kangaroo Point while the other is located in the busy hub of Spring Hill, in the Brisbane inner city. Travelling time between the two campuses is five minutes.

Kangaroo Point (Main Campus)

The expansive and impressive riverside campus is located in the exclusive riverside suburb of Kangaroo Point. It has beautifully landscaped and maintained lawns and gardens and provides a peaceful inner-city environment for learning. At the centre is the magnificent heritage-listed Shafston House which was built in 1851. Shafston House International College was established as an English Language (ELICOS) school in 1996. It is situated on the beautiful historical Shafston House riverfront estate at Kangaroo Point only minutes from the city centre of Brisbane.

The campus is home to Shafston International College where students engage in English language programs including: General English, IELTS Preparation and Cambridge certificate programs.

Also located at this campus is Shafston University Mansions, a twelve-storey tower where visitors will find the expansive Café Renoir, main lobby and reception areas, three levels of classrooms, offices, other academic facilities, and nine levels of on-campus accommodation for up to 352 students in either private, twin-share or dormitory style rooms.

Other facilities available to students and staff at this campus include a library and student resource centre, as well as multiple computer labs with free internet. Free wireless internet is also available to students in most areas within the campus.

L’Academie Hotel

Conveniently located on the fringe of Brisbane’s central business district, L’Académie Hotel has been fully redesigned to offer Shafston’s Hospitality students the finest of facilities for their training.  It has been refurbished, re-decorated and re-named as part of the continued growth of the infrastructure and facilities of the Shafston Colleges.  L’Académie provides a perfect opportunity for Shafston Hospitality students to be trained in a fully-operational commercial facility.

Superior-quality training Kitchens have been installed over two floors of this Hotel.  The restaurant and bar areas on the ground floor have been redesigned and there is now L’Academie Bar, L’Academie Restaurant and L’Academie Coffee Shop and Patisserie.

The L’Academie Restaurant and Patisserie are run as a training restaurant for Shafston’s Hospitality students.  Full three-course meals plus appetizers of five-star quality are prepared and presented for diners by Shafston Cookery, Patisserie and Bakery students under the supervision of their highly-qualified and experienced trainers. The restaurant is open daily for both day time and evening service. The time spent in the L’Academie Restaurant and Patisserie as part of the students’ training provides many hours of valuable hands-on industry experience.

Shafston International College now has a brand new, first class campus on the Gold Coast. Located in the centre of Southport, just minutes from Surfers Paradise and some of the best beaches in the world. Just 75 kilometres from Brisbane and with a population of over 420,000, Gold Coast City is an emerging city in Australia. Southport is the Gold Coast’s Business and Educational Precinct. With Griffith University, Gold Coast TAFE and other colleges and schools in the area, Southport has a very exciting and multicultural atmosphere. And Shafston in right in the centre!

2 minute walk – Central Bus Station, The Broadwater Parklands, Swimming Pools, and the Broadwater Beach.

5 minute walk – Sporting facilities, Southport Library, dozens of Sharehouse Hapartments, Health Care providers, a Police Station and many other community services.

At last! The Gold Coast now has a first-class Institution offering high-quality academic programs like IELTS, Cambridge and Cambridge Business English programs. Shafston International College is one of the largest providers of Cambridge courses in Australia and the same high standards of Exam Preparation Courses will be offered at Shafston Gold Coast. Every classroom is equipped with a large flat screen monitor or data projector giving our teachers the opportunity to use the latest ESL Teaching techniques and materials. Wi-Fi is offered throughout the College so bring your laptop or use one of ours…it’s free and all part of the service. Shafston Gold Coast does not have a computer room, instead you can borrow a new laptop, access the Wi-Fi and take a seat in the morning sun with a great cup of coffee from The Shafston Café in the middle of the Southport Mall.
